Can I install my new flooring over old flooring?

Yes you can, but it depends on several key factors including the condition the old flooring is in as well as the condition of the sub floor. You must also take into consideration door clearance, adding a new layer of flooring can raise the floor level depending on the type of flooring to be installed.

Do I need underlayment?

Using underlayment between the subfloor and your new flooring is not always required but strongly recommended. It can help smooth out uneven areas and reduce noise while also adding a layer of moisture protection.

What is the best way to protect my new floors from water or damage?

Clean any spills immediately. Check for and fix any leaks. Maintain proper indoor temperature. You can also protect your floors from water damage by placing mats and rugs in high-traffic areas.
